Apprentices

Put your learning into practice…

Apprenticeships are an excellent way of gaining qualifications and employment experience.

As an apprentice, you will ‘earn as you learn’ and gain practical skills from your workplace.

If you are already employed, then an apprenticeship training package will enable you to upskill for your existing role or even for a new role within your organisation.

The apprenticeship standards are usually made up of these components:

  • Apprenticeship qualification (not all Standards require an accredited qualification)
  • Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours
  • Functional Skills (Maths and English) – if GCSE’s not already in place
  • All apprentices require employment that offers at least 20 hours per week
    End Point Assessment

Throughout your apprenticeship, with the help of your assessor/tutor, you will collect evidence of your Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours:

  • During work
  • From your experiences
  • Through research
  • From your assessment tasks

This evidence will be collated into an online portfolio and presented as part of your End Point Assessment.
